DESCRIPTION

You might be wondering why two therapists are presenting at an HR Workshop. Well we, Katherine and Maria, aren't ordinary therapists. We both have long business histories prior to becoming therapists. We are both serial entrepreneurs and in each iteration of our respective careers, we have been the originators of new methods, practices, forging out on our own where others have not yet explored. And that is why we are here to present to you, because we know what it’s like in the business world as well as the therapy world, and we have developed tools and methods merged into a specific HR lens that will help you and your companies do better.

Change is the one constant in every organization. Change management, including conflict resolution are strategies and skills every HR professional should develop and enhance. Our presentation, “It’s Always More than Meets the Eye - It’s Trauma”, we developed specifically with you in mind. There’s just far too much trauma in the world to wait for the therapists to handle it all. The tools we will teach you are simple and effective and when you learn to see and hear the behavior of others differently, we can all take the temperature down a notch or two no matter where we are, and especially at work – the place where we all spend the most amount of time outside of our homes and families. We aim to show you how understanding the underlying mechanisms of human behavior allows everyone to better see each other and work better together combined with tools to effectively intervene when the situation calls for it. So often conflict arises from someone’s interpretation of someone else’s behavior, not just from the behavior itself.

OUTCOMES

This program will provide HR professionals with a better understanding of:

  • The connection of organizational and employee behavior to change management strategies and techniques.
  • Become more aware of the value of analyzing and assessing organizational practices that impact operations and people management to decide on the best available risk management strategy.
  • The import of developing and evaluating training strategies to increase individual and organizational effectiveness and mitigate conflict, including motivation methods, problem solving, and effective communication
