DESCRIPTION

After decades of historic growth, America’s aging workforce was blindsided by the unprecedented disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Health concerns, layoffs, and financial market volatility forced many older employees to leave the workforce prematurely (The Great Resignation). Those who remain have had to rethink their retirement plans- and the Social Security & Medicare decisions they are built upon. This fast-paced, engaging program explores the surprising statistics that underscore the difficult realities facing today’s ‘Peak Boomer’ (and soon Gen X) employees who are nearing retirement. It highlights some of the Social Security & Medicare basics that are in play and identifies specific challenges facing this group as they navigate the unique, often complex, and highly consequential filing decisions ahead.

Using relevant and practical real-life cases, this benefits-related content will be of interest to HR professionals of all experience levels, as well as those who simply want to learn more for themselves about Social Security & Medicare… America’s foundational retirement programs.

OUTCOMES

This program will provide HR professionals with insights into:

  • Acquire a more confident understanding of Social Security & Medicare and their foundational role in offering a stable retirement for today’s employees, even in uncertain economic times.
  • Learn about specific, high-priority Social Security & Medicare issues that employees must consider when they file for benefits from these programs.
  • Gain practical insights about navigating the transition into retirement income & healthcare benefits, thus becoming a more effective 'frontline' resource for older employees.
